Position Summary

Peoplelink Group is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Recruiter to source, assess, and place qualified talent in heavy industrial and manufacturing environments. This Recruiter will support high-volume production hiring as well as specialized industrial skilled trades, technical, maintenance, safety, quality, engineering, supervisory, and plant leadership needs. The role requires an understanding of how work is performed on a manufacturing floor, in a fabrication shop, or within other heavy industrial operations so candidate experience can be evaluated beyond job titles alone. The Recruiter will build dependable talent pipelines, respond quickly to changing production demands, and deliver a strong experience for clients and candidates across temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire placements.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies for heavy industrial manufacturing openings, including high-volume production, industrial skilled trades, technical, maintenance, safety, quality, engineering, supervisory, and plant leadership talent.
  • Build and maintain proactive pipelines based on production schedules, shift needs, specialized skill requirements, anticipated turnover, project demands, and client workforce plans.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, trade and technical schools, workforce and community partnerships, professional networks, direct outreach, and other available recruiting resources.
  • Conduct detailed phone and in-person interviews to evaluate relevant industrial experience, technical capabilities, equipment and process knowledge, work quality, safety mindset, attendance and reliability, shift flexibility, career goals, and overall fit.
  • Coordinate skills assessments, credential or certification verification, client submittals, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, onboarding, assignment starts, and follow-up communication throughout the hiring lifecycle.
  • Accurately maintain applicant, employee, client, job order, and communication records in applicant tracking and operational software systems in real time.
  • Document complete job-order requirements, including the work environment, essential duties, required tools or equipment, technical skills, certifications, physical demands, PPE, shift and overtime expectations, pay, and performance standards; maintain accurate, current job descriptions for each opening.
  • Partner with clients to understand their manufacturing processes, facility and production environment, workforce structure, safety and quality expectations, required skill levels, hiring priorities, and service expectations.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality service to clients, candidates, and employees, with particular attention to shift coverage, start readiness, attendance, retention, safety concerns, and other issues that may affect production.
  • Support business development by identifying heavy industrial and manufacturing prospects, participating in client visits and service reviews, and recognizing opportunities to expand within existing facilities or operations.
  • Understand and discuss pay rates, bill rates, markup considerations, and other pricing factors within established company guidelines and budgets.
  • Maintain client and personnel files in accordance with company recordkeeping and compliance standards.
  • Support employee-relations and workforce administration activities, including payroll coordination, workers' compensation reporting, unemployment matters, disciplinary documentation, attendance issues, and assignment concerns.
  • Track pipeline activity, submittals, interviews, offers, starts, fill rate, time to fill, falloff, attendance, and retention; communicate progress and adjust recruiting strategies based on results, production needs, and client feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of clients, candidates, employees, and business objectives.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant business experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or closely related experience preferred; experience recruiting for heavy industrial manufacturing and industrial skilled trades is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong sourcing and candidate-engagement skills, with the ability to build credibility with hourly production employees, experienced industrial craft professionals, technical specialists, and manufacturing leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ask practical follow-up questions, translate technical job requirements into clear candidate conversations, and communicate professionally with plant leaders, candidates, and internal teams.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, skill levels, shifts, hiring deadlines, and changing production priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and practical problem-solving ability, with a strong customer-service mindset and the confidence to identify skill gaps, clarify unrealistic requirements, and communicate recruiting challenges early.
  • Comfort working around manufacturing operations and visiting heavy industrial facilities while following all site safety and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate transferable industrial experience by discussing manufacturing processes, equipment, tools, drawings or specifications, quality expectations, maintenance exposure, and safe work practices rather than relying on job titles alone.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruiting technologies, Microsoft Office applications, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfort supporting business development, client engagement, service calls, and marketing activity.
  • Working knowledge of employment practices and staffing-industry compliance expectations; familiarity with industrial safety requirements, PPE, physical demands, technical certifications, and common manufacturing screening considerations is preferred.
