Job summary

United Concrete Products is seeking an experienced Heavy Forklift Operator for our outdoor facility. You will operate high-capacity forklifts (36,000–55,000 lbs), load/unload trucks, and manage yard inventory. A spotter will assist during lifts, and occasional shop tasks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating forklifts with a capacity of 36,000 lbs or greater.
• Valid forklift operator certification.
• Proven experience loading and unloading commercial trucks.
• Working knowledge of load charts, weight distribution, and safe rigging practices.
• Experience in a precast concrete, construction materials, or heavy industrial setting is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
• Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety at all times.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of hand signals and two-way radio communication.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts (36,000–55,000 lbs) throughout the facility and yard.
• Load and unload flatbed trucks and other delivery vehicles.
• Transport, stack, and organize materials in yard storage areas.
• Work in coordination with an assigned spotter during all major lifts and movements.
• Assist with general labor tasks in the shop when forklift duties are not required.
• Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections and document findings.
• Monitor forklift performance and report any mechanical issues to maintenance.
• Ensure all materials are stored safely and in accordance with weight capacity limits.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Communicate with supervisors, truck drivers, and yard personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with inventory tracking and material counts as needed.
