Job summary

PetroSea is seeking a trainer for mining and heavy equipment operations. The role involves delivering theory, practical training, and safety instruction according to company SOPs, and evaluating operator performance through assessments.

You will prepare training materials, conduct on-site and classroom sessions, and refresh knowledge based on field data. Travel to multiple project sites is required, with emphasis on SHE risk management and leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Min. 1 year experience in mining and heavy equipment.
  • Cert III in Engineering, electrical/electronic and mechanical trades.
  • Prefers Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Willing to travel to project sites.
  • Willing to work extended hours for relief roles.
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Train and assess operators in theory, practicals, and safety for heavy equipment per SOP.
  • Prepare training materials (handouts, presentations, assessments).
  • Deliver class and on-the-job training; remind about unsafe actions and conditions.
  • Conduct refresh training based on field observations and productivity data.
  • Demonstrate operating technique according to procedures.
  • Maintain and implement SHE programs and risk management per ISO/SMKP/SMK3 standards.
  • Travel to sites as required.
