Job summary

Linder Industrial Machinery Company is seeking a Technical Communicator to support service operations by creating and delivering accurate technical information for technicians, service managers, and customers. This role bridges Linder branches, OEMs, and internal departments to enable efficient troubleshooting and consistent service practices.

The ideal candidate will develop training materials, translate OEM updates, and ensure documentation quality across branches, with travel to be expected

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; translate complex concepts into clear instructions.
• Experience with heavy equipment systems, including Komatsu or similar/Linder product lines.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and documentation systems.
• Exceptional organization, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
• Prior experience in a service, technical writing, or equipment support role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain Linder-specific service documentation, including troubleshooting guides, repair instructions, technical bulletins, and SOPs.
• Translate OEM technical updates, field campaigns, and service news into clear, actionable instructions for Linder technicians.
• Ensure all documents meet Linder standards for clarity, accuracy, branding, and version control.
• Manage documentation libraries within Linder’s internal systems to keep information current and accessible across all branches.
• Serve as a technical liaison between OEM technical support teams, Linder branches, and field service technicians.
• Assist in resolving and escalating service issues driving use of the Technical Service Request process.
• Communicate product updates, service advisories, and common failure trends to branch personnel.
• Participate in technical calls with OEMs and provide follow-up documentation for internal distribution.
• Review trends in service cases, warranty claims, Komtrax data, and technician feedback to identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
• Support failure analysis efforts, including documenting findings from component tear-downs or field inspections.
• Verify new or revised service procedures before recommending field implementation.
• Develop technician training materials, quick reference guides, and visual job aids tailored to Linder equipment lines.
• Support the Service Training team by preparing content for new model introductions and technical courses.
• Assist with onboarding new technicians by providing accessible technical resources and guidance.
• Coordinate with Service Managers, Branch Managers, Warranty, Parts, and PSSR teams to align procedures.
• Work closely with the Warranty Department to create TSIs and submit clear narratives to Komatsu.
• Provide feedback to Product Support Managers and OEM representatives based on field conditions.
