Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Shop Technician at our Elko, NV branch to perform shop repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds on heavy mining equipment, ensuring safety and high-quality work.

Your hands-on expertise will help keep equipment reliable and ready to perform in a modern shop environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred), 2 years of hands-on repair experience, and strong knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical system knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and interpret technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds on heavy mining equipment.
• Remove, inspect, repair, reassemble, and install mechanical, hydraulic, and powertrain components.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and component failures using procedures and diagnostic tools.
• Perform failure analysis, testing, and adjustments to ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and minimal rework.
• Follow all shop safety, JSA, contamination-control, and HAZMAT requirements.
• Accurately document repairs, parts used, inspection findings, and additional work required.
