Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic)

Position Overview

EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Charleston, SC. The role involves maintenance and repair of various heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, offering the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On-call during weekends only in special circumstances.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use technology to manage work orders, track service intervals, and diagnose issues.
• Practice safe repair procedures.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians.
• Maintain documentation of work performed.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Follow OSHA requirements (preferred).
• Participate in OEM training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma; trade certification preferred.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Position is safety-sensitive; passing a drug screen is required.
