Job summary

EquipmentShare in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Heavy Equipment Shop Lead to oversee maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and aerial lifts. The role emphasizes data-driven troubleshooting, safety, and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring timely service and documentation.

You will use laptops/tablets to monitor work, coordinate parts, and drive efficient repairs in a fast-paced, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge and ability to use tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with schematics/diagrams.
• Strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders using our tech platform.
• Track service intervals and order parts.
• Diagnose issues quickly and determine root causes.
• Mentor Tier One and Tier Two Technicians on major component removal and replacement.
• Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and participate in OEM training.
