Job summary

Republic Services in Michigan is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a shop focused on preventive maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, trucks, and containers. You will supervise a team of technicians, coordinate safety-compliant work, and ensure timely repairs while controlling costs.

You will report to the Maintenance Manager, conduct daily huddles, performance evaluations, and inspections of outside repairs, building strong skills in diagnostics, HVAC, and electrical systems

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE Certification T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension/Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, T7 HVAC, ASE T2 Diesel Engine, ASE Master.
• 3 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment; 1 year supervisory experience with safety/regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance shop staff and lead technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Plan and schedule repair work; monitor performance and cost-control measures.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure compliance with safety and regulations.
• Oversee inventory, diagnostics, and repair quality on heavy equipment and trucks.
