Job summary

Building Ventures in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to support excavation, grading and sitework on our self-performed construction projects. You will operate excavators, dozers, rollers and loaders, perform daily equipment checks, attend safety training and keep the work area clean.

This hands-on role requires good communication, the ability to read plans, and a strong safety mindset; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, rollers and loaders on civil sites.
• Ability to read/check grades and follow site plans.
• Strong safety focus with PPE adherence and training attendance.
• Physically able to climb on/off equipment and work on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Excavate footings, foundations and trenches and backfill building pads.
• Demolish concrete and load out material using heavy equipment.
• Spread and compact base materials and check subgrade grades.
• Operate multiple machines and perform routine inspections.
• Attend safety trainings and maintain a clean work area.
