About This RoleOperate a variety of heavy earthmoving machines to support excavation, grading and sitework for self-performed construction projects in Austin, TX. This is a hands-on role focused on safe, efficient equipment operation-excavators, dozers, rollers, loaders and related gear. No supervisory duties. You'll work on footings, foundations, trenches, demo and load-out, subgrade stabilization and final pad grading. Must be able to attend required safety and equipment training and pass pre-employment checks.What You'll DoExcavate footings, foundations and trenches; backfill and fine grade building pads.Demolish existing concrete and load out material using excavators or loaders.Spread and compact rock, base and other fill materials; stabilize subgrade and check grades.Lay out and bench excavations; install trench boxes/shoring as required and follow site plans.Operate multiple types of heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, rollers, loaders, skid steers) and perform routine equipment checks.Attend required safety and equipment training, maintain clean work area and assist with general site cleanup.What We're Looking ForProven experience operating excavators, dozers, rollers and loaders on commercial/general civil sites.Ability to read/check grades, use basic layout tools and follow plans and stake lines.Strong safety focus - follow procedures, wear PPE and attend training; ability to judge depth perception and maintain situational awareness.Physically able to climb on/off equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, work on uneven surfaces and work at heights when required.Able to pass criminal background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical (silica exam if applicable).Good verbal communication; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
