Job summary

Building Ventures in El Paso, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support excavation, grading and site work. Operate dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, skid steers, dump trucks and forklifts while following safety rules and project timescales.

You will perform site prep, grading, demolition and material handling, conduct daily equipment inspections, and maintain clean, organized work areas. CDL/OSHA-10 is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years operating heavy equipment on construction or civil projects.
• Experience with dozer, excavator, loader, grader, skid steer.
• Ability to read basic plans/grade stakes and follow directions.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred for dump truck work.
• OSHA-10 preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus; high school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including dozer, excavator, loader, grader, skid steer, backhoe, dump truck and forklift for site work.
• Perform excavation, grading, site prep, demolition and material loading/unloading as directed by supervisor.
• Follow grade stakes and plans, assist crew with setting/maintaining grades, trenches and erosion control.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-shift equipment inspections, perform basic maintenance, and report defects.
• Secure and load materials, assist truck drivers with spotting and load transfers, and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Follow site safety procedures, use PPE, report hazards, and keep accurate time and equipment logs.
