Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include several years operating heavy equipment and a strong working knowledge of safety practices.
• Commercial driver's license required when equipment will be operated on public roads.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and pass pre-employment checks including background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric equipment to move objects according to specifications.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of equipment; document results.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities and signals from crew members.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, and materials using trucks, crawlers, and related equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, participate in pre-job planning, and report hazards immediately.
• Read and apply operating manuals, plans and specifications to ensure compliance.
