Job summary

Amentum in Texarkana, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy machinery on roads and grounds projects, including cranes, bulldozers, and loaders, ensuring safe and efficient site operations.

Responsibilities include excavating, loading, moving dirt and aggregates, reading grade stakes, performing minor repairs, and complying with safety and quality policies. Applicants must have CDL Class A, a valid state license, and ability to work varying shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years' experience as an Equipment Operator or completion of recognized apprenticeship program.
• Must possess a Class A CommercialDriver's License (CDL).
• Must be physically qualified in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Must be able to pass a driver skill test by CDL standards.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• Must be available to work any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments.
• Excavate, load, or move and distribute dirt, gravel, or other materials; stockpile material on roads, drill pads, event sites, and construction sites.
• Read grade and slope stakes and simple plans; grease, adjust and perform minor emergency repairs to equipment.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
