Qualifications

• One year or more of backhoe/mini excavator operation experience.
• Experience digging around underground utilities.
• CDL is required; Class A preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Reading basic prints and Underground Facility Location Sketch is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment or passenger vehicles.
• Uses control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
• Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects.
• Communicates abnormal working conditions to supervisor or appropriate parties.
• Performs mid-level laboring tasks such as hand digging, setting up traffic control, placing fiber, loading materials on utility sites.
• Reads utility prints/maps proficiently.
• Maintains safety standards and completes required paperwork.
• Exposes underground utilities manually and conducts post-job quality checks.
