Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator (Driver License Required) to operate heavy equipment and perform vegetation management tasks alongside the utility industry. The role includes transporting equipment across multiple states, handling gates and culverts, and applying herbicides while complying with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Familiar with electrical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, excavator, loaders, dump trucks, mowers and stump grinders.
• Transport equipment to and from multi-state job locations.
• Install and remove gates, fences, barb wire.
• Install and remove culverts, rocks and base.
• Work on spread rock and base by highways, side roads and on the right-of-way.
• Use a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.
• Gathers brush and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Apply chemical herbicide to right-of-way following brush removal when applicable.
• Utilize hose and spray nozzle from truck-mounted spray equipment or backpack to treat remote areas.
• Service truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in order.
• Assist senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.
• Work around hazardous equipment and noise with hearing protection.
• Work in all temperatures and weather, exposed to nature and insects.
• Work on unleveled ground and around falling limbs.
