Job summary

The Fayette Chamber of Commerce (GA) seeks a skilled operator to run heavy equipment for the City of Fayette's stormwater repair and maintenance program. You will operate a loader, skid steer, backhoe, dump truck, excavator, street sweeper, and related machinery to keep drainage systems functional.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading equipment, installing and removing storm pipes, repairing potholes and curbs, trenching for pipe installations, and assisting in masonry and concrete work on

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Sufficient experience for basic principles of the duties (1–2 years typical).
• CDL Class B or Non-Commercial Class F within 6 months of hire.
• Georgia Flagging Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for maintenance and repair of stormwater systems.
• Load and unload equipment for transport.
• Install and remove storm pipes; repair potholes, trenches, and curbs; dig trenches for pipe installation.
• Assist in masonry work and concrete finishing for storm structures.
• Operate hand and power tools (chainsaw, weed eater, blower).
• Support traffic control at work sites.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; report defects; perform preventive maintenance.
