Eligible candidates must hold a valid North Dakota Class A driver license with air brake restrictions removed and cargo-tank endorsement (N) by start date.

Qualifications

• Valid North Dakota Class A driver license with no air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by start date.
• Two years of relevant experience or one year plus one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.
• For Operator I, a valid Class B license without air brake restrictions is required.
• In absence of preferred experience, an Equipment Operator in Training may be considered with a Class A permit and cargo-tank endorsement by start date.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform maintenance on highways, roadways and structures.
• Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining highway signs and guardrails.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance and keep necessary paperwork (time records, reports).
• Work under supervision, with training in construction project duties and safety procedures.
