Job summary

City of Daphne seeks a capable operator to run heavy equipment for street, drainage, and park maintenance. You will perform manual tasks, assist with traffic control, and support project execution under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with vocational training in mechanics and at least three years of heavy equipment experience. CDL is preferred and safety is emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemented by vocational/technical training in mechanics.
• Three (3) years of previous experience and/or training in heavy equipment operation and road maintenance/construction.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, data interpretation, and the ability to follow procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment and machinery used in road construction, maintenance and repair.
• Transports, loads, and unloads materials and equipment.
• Assist in locating underground cables and gas lines prior to construction work.
