Job summary

The City of Foley, AL is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate skid-steers, excavators, bulldozers, and related machinery for drainage and road projects. The role includes masonry work, setting up traffic control, and coordinating with City staff to ensure elevations meet project specs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience. Flagger and erosion control training are preferred, and a Class B CDL must be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Flagger Training and Erosion Control Training preferred.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of machinery including skid-steers, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
• Sets up traffic control and lays out signs and cones per MUTCD.
• Performs masonry/concrete work to elevations for drainage inlets, sidewalks, and footings.
• Inspects and maintains equipment including fluid levels, tires, hoses, and hydraulic systems.
• Collects elevation information for drainage and road projects and communicates with City staff.
• Performs general drainage maintenance and land clearing tasks.
• Maintains ADA rule awareness and safety practices.
