Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely run equipment at our recycling, landfill, or transfer facilities. The role includes pre/post inspections, routine maintenance, and clean, compliant operation to move waste and soil efficiently.

You will work with forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, following safety standards and company policies. Prior OSHA-regulated site experience is required, with a focus on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience operating heavy equipment.
• One year of experience at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other heavy machinery.
• Monitor waste material for unacceptable items and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor routine maintenance and document service actions.
