Job summary

Charah Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Moncure, NC. The role requires operating heavy machinery (backhoe, dozer, excavator, grader) safely to grade and excavate according to engineered plans.

You will coordinate with the crew, perform routine PMs, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a production-focused environment. A valid driver's license and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience operating in a production-focused environment preferred.
• Experience utilizing GPS grading systems (i.e. Trimble, Topcon) preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in ash management, structural fills and landfills preferred.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and move materials (ash, dirt, rock) using heavy equipment.
• Drive equipment with blades in passes to distribute and level earth.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Adjust controls to exact positions as necessary.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
