Job summary

The Orange County Water District seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator II to perform skilled operations across Anaheim (FHQ) and Corona (Prado) sites. This role supports road, levee, and drainage work with multiple heavy machines and requires a valid CDL with tank endorsement within six months.

Typical schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a 9/80 plan. Candidates must meet education/experience guidelines and pass a medical and background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of directly related heavy equipment operation experience.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License; Class A CDL with tank endorsement required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates bulldozers to build dikes and levees, roads, and to reshape slopes.
• Operates motor graders to prepare roads and perform weed abatement.
• Operates rubber tire loaders and/or dump trucks for material handling.
• Operates backhoes to dig trenches, load/unload, and place pipes.
