Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking Equipment Operator I–IV to operate light to heavy equipment within maintenance and construction areas across multiple county sites in Central Florida. Positions require safety checks, routine maintenance, and compliance with project specifications.

CDL is required for higher levels, and successful candidates will perform related labor as needed. Open Date: 09/08/2026; Close Date: 09/27/2026; benefits include holidays, paid time off, and various insurance

Qualifications

• Six months to four years of experience in operation of automotive, construction or maintenance equipment depending on EO level.
• CDL may be required for higher EO levels within six months of hire.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of light to heavy equipment depending on EO level.
• Perform routine safety checks and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with road/landscape maintenance and other project tasks.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and work under supervision.
