Job summary

Orange County Water District is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work at Anaheim (FHQ) or Corona (Prado) locations. Duties include operating bulldozers, graders, loaders, backhoes and scrapers to build dikes, roads, and perform vegetation control.

Requires 2 years of related experience and a valid CA driver’s license; Class A with tank endorsement must be obtained within six months. Candidates must be adaptable to field conditions, complete safety training, and join a team focused on

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of directly related heavy equipment operation experience.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License; Class A with tank endorsement and no restrictions to be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operates bulldozers, graders, loaders, backhoes, scrapers to support roadwork, drainage, and site prep.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and keeps driver’s log.
• Assists with wetlands operations and vegetation habitat recognition when needed.
• Interacts with coworkers and public; follows safety rules and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
