Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of power construction equipment for excavation, grading, and material handling on our Lake Cormorant project site. You will perform routine maintenance, document inspections, and coordinate with crew members to meet project specifications.

Ideal candidates will hold NCCER certifications and a valid CDL when required, with the ability to work long shifts in varying weather conditions and adhere to safety procedures and site

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and legal ability to work in the U.S.
• Commercial driver’s license required when operating on public roads
• Pre-employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, MVR) may be required
• Copy of Medical Examiner’s Certificate must be on file before operation

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric equipment to move materials per project specs.
• Assemble and operate compressors and pumps; control attachments and boom movements.
• Perform light maintenance and document logs; conduct daily inspections of equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and load movements; ensure safe operation.
