Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies and Overland Contracting (a Black & Veatch company) seek an experienced power equipment operator for critical infrastructure projects. You will operate track loaders, dozers, backhoes, and excavators, ensuring safe, efficient excavation and grading work across sites.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on operation, NCCER certifications, and CDL if operating on public roads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years or 6,000 hours of working experience as an equipment operator.
• Strong working knowledge of operating and rigging crafts and equipment safety practices.
• Copy of Medical Examiner's Certificate must be on file before operation begins.
• Commercial driver's license required when equipment is operated on public roads.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material per project specs.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and load/move dirt and rocks.
• Refer to safety procedures and Red Tag requirements; follow Load capacity charts.
• Ensure daily equipment inspections, document maintenance logs, and report hazards.
