Job summary

MasTec is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to support industrial, wind, and civil projects. You will operate excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and ADTs, performing earthworks, material handling, and site preparation on large-scale sites.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to work up to 50 hours per week in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in heavy equipment operation role.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and understand equipment functions; monitor operation to detect problems and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Build level and/or extreme terrain and excavate land surfaces using listed equipment.
• Drive and maneuver equipment with blades in passes to remove topsoil and level earth or terrain.
• Load dirt, stone, equipment, materials, and waste onto trucks from the jobsite.
• Excavate trenches with proper slopes per OSHA.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities and respond to signals from crew.
