Job summary

MasTec is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support heavy civil, industrial, and wind projects across Texas. The role requires operating excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes and related equipment, with emphasis on safety, maintenance, and teamwork.

The position may involve long shifts, site travel, and adherence to all OSHA guidelines and company policies. A minimum 1 year of heavy equipment experience is expected, with 1–3 years preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in heavy equipment operation role
• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and dump trucks
• Maintain safety and compliance with company policies
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and document maintenance activities
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals and manage material handling on site
• Travel to different jobsites as needed and perform other duties as assigned
