City of Laredo seeks an experienced heavy equipment operator to operate backhoes, graders, and loaders for streets and water utilities. You will perform pipe installations, water line maintenance, and assist in various municipal projects.

The role requires a minimum of three years’ experience, a Texas Driver License, and a CDL within 12 months. Expect outdoor work and adherence to safety policies, with opportunities to support emergency city operations.

Formación

• At least three (3) years of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
• Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a Texas license must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• A valid CDL Class A or B must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• As part of the minimum requirements, a thorough background check and certified transcripts will be required.
• Drug and alcohol testing is required prior to employment.

Responsabilidades

• Operate backhoe, graders, and loaders to install, replace, and maintain streets, water mains, meters, and valves.
• Cut and fit pipes above or below ground to install or repair water lines and manholes.
• Raise, lower, or move water lines as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools (oil changes, greasing, washing).
• Assist other City Departments in emergencies and perform related duties.
