Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator at District Headquarters Ada, OK. This full-time, regular position covers operating power equipment for highway maintenance and repair duties in District 3 with available benefits and eligibility for retirement plans.

Level I or II positions are described, including safety requirements, CDL/driver’s license prerequisites, and a focus on traffic control and equipment upkeep. Benefits include PTO, holidays, and health options.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment such as trucks, tractors, graders, dozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes and other equipment.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs and/or replaces signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provides traffic control using a stop/slow sign or flag to direct highway traffic.
