Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Sierrita operations, located about 20 miles from Tucson, Arizona, seeks a skilled heavy equipment operator to support production. You will operate haul trucks, dozers, excavators, and loaders, perform pre-shift inspections, and coordinate via computer dispatch or radio in a 24/7 environment.

Candidates need at least six months of mobile equipment experience and must complete required training and safety assessments.

Qualifications

• Six months mobile equipment operating experience.
• Complete required training and demonstrate aptitude, including written assessments if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in support of production (haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders).
• Perform pre-shift inspections and communicate via dispatch systems or radio.
• Assist with training and mentoring of other operators.
• Follow start-up/shut-down, parking, LOTOTO procedures and safety protocols.
• Support road work, stockpile management, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Ensure understanding of hazards and changes in assigned areas.
