Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan currently seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to support production at our open-pit copper operation. You will operate heavy equipment, perform pre-shift inspections, and assist with training while maintaining strict safety standards.

Two years of mobile equipment experience and the ability to pass safety-and-technical assessments are required. The role is on-site at the mining complex with comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Two years of mobile equipment operating experience.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies as required for internal progression where LOP exists.
• Ability to pass a written assessment and safety-related exams.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to support production at a highly skilled level.
• Assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operators.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and manage hazards in assigned work areas.
• May perform road building, stockpile management, trenching, and other duties as required.
