Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in the Sierrita region near Tucson is seeking skilled personnel for its mechanical maintenance craft. You will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to maximize production safely.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience, ability to read schematics, electrical knowledge, and English communication. Training and mentoring duties may be included; a dynamic team environment and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Four years of mechanical/maintenance craft experience or equivalent demonstrated through education and practice.
• Ability to understand and follow English safety instructions and procedures.
• Ability to read schematics and understand general to advanced electrical concepts.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic, replacement and repairs on engines, transmissions, axles, suspension, steering, brakes and related components.
• Performs mechanical and lubrication preventive maintenance including oil and lube services and coolant system checks.
• Train and mentor other employees and act as a Fill-In Supervisor as needed.
• Perform welding such as carbon arc and MIG.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
• Maintain work orders, keep a clean and safe work area and perform inspections.
