Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in New York's Round Lake area is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely run yellow iron equipment at the Transfer Station, transferring and loading materials efficiently.

The role requires a safety-minded, team-oriented approach with the ability to follow schedules and operate multiple machines. A HS diploma or GED and 2 years' equipment experience are preferred, with US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Self-directed and able to work as part of a team.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the US.
• High school diploma or GED; two years of heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Strong safety, communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the facility according to scheduled hours of operation.
• Oversees truck dump scheduling and trailer switching.
• Maintains clean public areas per the manager's schedule.
• Ensures customers use the transfer station safely per rules.
• Meets loading schedules so driver loads are production ready.
• Directs trucks to unloading areas safely.
• Executes safety and equipment checks on all duties.
• Reports mechanical issues during inspections to shop foreman.
• Participates in training and company initiatives as needed.
