Qualifications

• The candidate must be self-directed, at least 18 years old, and able to work as part of a team; must be legally eligible to work in the US.
• High school diploma or GED and two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties in various weather conditions. Proven commitment to work and safety; strong communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the facility according to scheduled hours of operation.
• Oversees the schedule of where and which trucks are to dump and switching out trailers.
• Ensures public areas of the transfer station are clean at all times; follows daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules.
• Ensures customers use the transfer station according to safety rules and regulations.
• Meets loading schedules to assure driver loads are ready to meet production.
• Directs incoming trucks and vehicles to unloading areas safely.
• Follows all safety and equipment checks and precautions in performing duties.
• Reports mechanical problems during pre-trip inspections to the shop foreman.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company and its products, sales and services.
