Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate yellow iron equipment at the transfer station and to manage loading and moving materials efficiently.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to coordinate with drivers and site staff. The starting pay is $25 per hour, with opportunities to grow through structured training and a defined career path.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Proven commitment to work and safety, strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the facility according to hours of operation.
• Oversee truck dump scheduling and trailer switching.
• Keep public areas of the transfer station clean per daily/weekly/monthly schedules.
• Ensure customers follow safety rules and regulations at the transfer station.
• Meet loading schedules so driver loads are ready for production.
• Direct incoming trucks to unloading areas safely.
• Report mechanical issues found during inspections to the shop foreman.
• Participate in training and other learning opportunities to grow with the company.
