Job summary

IHC Construction Companies LLC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for future work at job sites in Jefferson and Tennille, GA. The role involves operating earthmoving equipment, reading plans, and supporting large public works projects with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will hold necessary licenses including crane certification, be able to navigate rough terrain, and be prepared to work across multiple sites for IHC's Southeast Regional Operations Office.

Qualifications

• Able to climb, step, walk rough terrain and negotiate equipment entry/exit.

• Excavate and grade jobsites for buildings, roads, tanks, underground structures/facilities, etc.

Qualified Candidates for Heavy Equipment Operator position in GEORGIA are those:

• able to climb, step, walk rough terrain and negotiate equipment entry/exit (may include climbing, reaching, pulling, bending)
• appropriately qualified (including possession of necessary certifications & licenses) to operate EARTHMOVING equipment for which they've been hired, including CRANE certification.
• capable of reading plans and grades
• experienced in working on complex public work projects

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities include:

• working with heavy construction equipment to move material, earth, heavy objects (forms, steel, rebar, etc.)
• excavating & grading jobsites for buildings, roads, tanks, underground structures/facilities, etc.
• adhering to safe load limits

Physical demands and tasks for Heavy Equipment Operator include:

• constant motion of traversing various terrains
• full motion of neck for unrestricted vision
• sitting in prone position for long periods of time while using both hands and feet simultaneously for equipment operation
• equipment inspections (may include greasing & fluid checks, changing of equipment accessories, completion of safety logs)
• 50 lb. lifting capability of miscellaneous items such as fuel cans, hydraulic oil containers, etc.
• other duties as assigned

Work is to be performed outside in all weather conditions. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work all shifts and overtime. Satisfactory attendance is required.
