Job summary

IHC Construction Companies LLC is seeking qualified persons for future work on project sites in Woodstock, Hiram and Duluth, GA. This ENR Top 400 contractor values safety, quality, and cost-effective completion of carpentry tasks.

Candidates must be able to walk varying distances, climb stairs, lift up to 75 lbs, work at heights, and operate power tools. Knowledge of plan reading and framing is a plus; highway or wastewater experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk varying distances, traverse uneven terrain, climb stairs, ladders or scaffold, bend, kneel, lift, stand, hammer, measure, cut and suspend while wearing belt/harness with tools
• Experience or ability to work at heights of up to 50 feet on elevated platforms or booms
• Knowledge of plan reading, steel and wood framing, doors and hardware, drywall and concrete placement

Responsibilities

• Responsible for carpentry tasks on diverse construction projects
• Operate power tools for cutting, drilling, fastening and shaping materials
• Read and interpret plans and specifications, ensure work aligns with layout and measurements
• Work inside and outside in all weather conditions; adhere to safety and quality standards
• Available for all shifts and overtime; maintain satisfactory attendance
• Willing to submit to drug testing as part of company program

Qualified Candidates are those capable of:

• walking varying distances, traversing uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, or scaffold, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, hammering, measuring, cutting, and suspending while wearing belt/harness equipped with multiple hand tools
• working at heights of 50 feet above grade on elevated platforms or booms
• lifting, hoisting, and loading building materials, sheet goods, plywood, and lumber during installation, forming, and removal
• operating power tools for cutting, sawing, drilling, fastening, securing, grinding, shaping of building materials for installation or removal
• operating leveling system, lasers, transom, site level, hand level to determine plumb, level, and square
• lifting materials and tools ranging from 1 - 75 lbs.

Qualified Candidates are those with knowledge of:

• plan reading, for dimensions, elevations, layout and material types, finishes and quantity square feet or cubic yards
• steel and wood framing, doors and hardware, sheathing and drywall, concrete forming, form assembly and concrete placement
• other duties as assigned

Safety, quality work, and cost effective completion of tasks common to the carpenter trade for complex projects is emphasized.

Experience in highway and wastewater construction a plus.

Work is to be performed inside & outside in all weather conditions.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work all shifts and overtime.

Satisfactory attendance is required.
