Job summary

IHC Construction Companies, L.L.C. seeks a reliable Laborer for Jefferson and Tennille, GA. You will perform varied manual tasks, assist with material handling, and support skilled trades on construction sites.

IHC is a long-established construction firm with expanding Southeast operations, building public and private institutions and infrastructure. Onsite training is provided; reliable transportation and the ability to work outdoors in all weather are required.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation required.
• Valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
• Willingness to work all shifts and overtime.
• Ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• Satisfactory attendance per attendance policy.

Responsibilities

• Walking varying distances, traversing uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, or scaffold, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing for duration of shift.
• Hand excavating.
• Hoisting, carrying, loading, and unloading building materials and equipment.
• Cleaning, sweeping debris, demolishing building materials and concrete.
• Disassembling equipment and scaffolding.
• Operating pumps and dewatering equipment and hoses.
• Erecting barricades and control devices.
• Shoveling and placing aggregate materials or concrete.
• Saw-cutting, chipping, and jack hammering concrete or masonry.
• Loading, transporting, carrying lumber and form work, wheel barrel materials, concrete, mortar, stone and debris.
• Lifting materials & tools ranging from 1–75 lbs.
• Operating small power equipment, plate compactors, generators, compressors, pumps, vibrators, including startup, set up and disconnection of the equipment.
• Using leveling systems, reading grade stakes, and performing basic math for elevation deviation.
• Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Safety, quality work, and cost-effective completion of tasks common to the laborer trade are emphasized.
• Work is to be performed inside & outside.
