Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks qualified Equipment Operator to operate a range of power construction equipment such as loaders, excavators, and graders on construction sites in South Carolina. You will perform soil movement, grading and routine maintenance while following safety guidelines.

The role requires prior NCCER certifications, a valid CDL with an appropriate endorsement, and the ability to work long shifts in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Experience operating construction equipment and a strong awareness of safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric powered equipment to move objects or material per project specifications; inspect and document maintenance.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities and signals from crew; load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using equipment.
• Calculate slopes and grades; ensure compliance with trenching and excavating regulations and safety rules.
• Identify hazards, locate underground services, and follow safety procedures including Red Tag rules and stop-work authority when needed.
