Job summary

Cemex US in the United States is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy mobile equipment on site, including front end loaders, backhoe loaders, skid steers, and haul trucks. You will perform daily inspections and operate equipment safely, following company safety rules and OSHA guidelines.

The role requires 2 years of heavy equipment experience (or more per internal notes), high school diploma or GED, and flexibility for shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the position or related field.
• Ability to work scheduled shift hours and be flexible with scheduling, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily or pre-shift inspections on vehicles and operate them safely.
• Operate all mobile and heavy-duty equipment on site (dozers, loaders, haul truck, etc.).
• Perform clean-up work to keep tools, equipment, and working areas clean, orderly and safe.
• Comply with company safety rules and regulations.
• Be multi-diversified in performing other duties such as maintenance/repair and yard loading when needed.
• Understand, interpret, and execute instructions in verbal and written form.
• Schedule or call for repairs and parts.
• Recognize potentially hazardous situations.
• Adhere to CEMEX and OSHA rules at all times.
• Wear proper safety equipment on plant grounds.
• Meet or exceed safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
