Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting is hiring an Equipment Operator to join our team in Gardiner, ME. You will operate heavy construction equipment, perform daily maintenance, and support blasting and drilling operations under supervision.

Requirements include a valid driver's license, prior laborer experience, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Travel may be required; compensation ranges from $20 to $22 per hour plus a travel stipend.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment (backhoe, skid steer, excavators, loaders).
• Valid driver's license and own transportation.
• Experience as a construction laborer.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate job-specific equipment under supervision.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe operation.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and assist Blaster Foreman.
• Maintain supplies and paperwork (drill reports, hole sheets, timecard).
• Travel out of town may be required.
• Work unsupervised with urgency.
• Attend safety and job meetings.
• Carry tools and coordinate with team.
