Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting in Augusta, ME is seeking an equipment operator to join our majority employee-owned team. If you have experience with heavy construction equipment and a willingness to learn drilling and blasting, we want to meet you.

This role offers an hourly rate of $20–$22 plus a travel stipend, with opportunities for advancement within our ESOP-owned company and a safety-first culture. You will work outdoors in varying weather and may travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating earthmoving/construction equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer.
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass ATF background screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as directed by Superintendents or Foreman.
• Maintain safety and work well in varying weather.
• Out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe operation of equipment.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and execute layouts as directed.
• Inventory accessories and understand costs.
• Report problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
• Complete drill reports and timecards accurately.
• Carry tools and supplies; participate in meetings.
• Complete Driller I training within the designated period.
• Work unsupervised with urgency.
• Other duties as assigned.
