Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc in Londonderry, NH is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee to join our field crew. You’ll learn drilling and blasting operations while operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders under supervision.

We offer a path for advancement, competitive hourly wages of $20–$22 plus travel stipend, ESOP retirement, a traditional 401(k), and full benefits. Candidates must pass pre-employment screen and background check.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful (earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, timber harvest equipment, etc.)
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation
• Experience as construction laborer
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
• Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as instructed by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators
• Be safety-minded and adaptable to weather conditions
• Out of town travel and overtime may be required
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient operation of equipment
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures
• Learn drill patterns and execute layouts as established by Foreman
• Inventory accessories and understand cost of parts
• Communicate problems and terrain conditions to Blaster/Foreman
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and timecards
• Coordinate supplies with Blaster
• Participate in Foreman/Safety/Job meetings
• Complete Driller I training within designated period
• Work unsupervised with a sense of urgency
• Carry out other duties as assigned
