Job summary

GFL is seeking a capable equipment operator to bale, load, and move waste material at assigned sites. The role requires operating forklifts, Bobcats, loaders, balers, backhoes, and other machinery with strict adherence to safety rules.

You will perform daily inspections, grease and top-up fluids, and assist in keeping facilities clean and compliant. Strong reading, communication, and physical stamina are essential for success in outside conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Possibility to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
• Operates multiple heavy equipment safely and with protective gear.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease, lubricate, and check fluids daily.
• Operate and steer listed equipment at assigned site.
• Replace for absent workers as needed.
• Keep tracks and gear clean and free of debris.
• Communicate with team via two-way radio about priorities.
• Comply with laws, policies, and safety directives.
• Maintain facility grounds and attend safety meetings.
