Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a capable operator to safely operate excavator, front loader, bulldozer, or other heavy equipment to bale, load and move waste material on site.

You will perform daily inspections, lubrication, and fluid checks while maintaining safety and quality at the worksite. Responsibilities include driving the listed equipment, substituting for others when needed, cleaning and inspecting tracks, and coordinating with teammates via two-way radio.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required.
• Completion of forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks of equipment.
• Grease/lubricate equipment and check/add fluids daily.
• Steer, guide or drive listed equipment at the assigned site.
• Substitute for another operator as needed.
• Clean tracks and gear mechanisms daily or as needed.
• Communicate via two-way radio with coworkers about work activities.
• Comply with laws, policies and directives from supervisors.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
