Page Mechanical Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for the Vacherie, LA area. Operate excavators, skid steers, marsh buggy, and bulldozers while following safety policies and coordinating with a crew.

Responsibilities include loading/offloading materials, inspecting equipment, daily checks, and maintaining a clean, safe worksite. Must have NCCCO Crane Certification, pass drug/background screens, and provide PPE. Weekly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid driver's license/ID and be able to pass a physical.
  • Must pass a DISA drug screen and background check.
  • Must provide own PPE: hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Must have NCCCO Crane Certification (as applicable).
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with safety policies.
  • Maneuver equipment to remove/place materials accurately.
  • Load/offload rocks, debris, and other materials.
  • Keep equipment, materials and site clean and organized.
  • Inspect machinery before/after use and report defects.
  • Perform daily checks and basic maintenance as needed.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards and work with supervision.

We are currently taking applications/resumes for an EXPERIENCED Heavy Equipment Operator for the Vacherie, LA & surrounding areas. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

  • Job Scope:
    • Heavy equipment operators control specialized machines used in construction, maintenance and operations. They may run excavators, loaders, cranes, pile drivers, graders and industrial trucks. While working with others, they often use hand signals or radios to coordinate movements.

  • Position Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE VALID LICENSE
  • High school diploma or GED equivalentis required.
  • MUSTbe able to pass physical
  • MUSTbe able to pass DISA drug screen
  • MUSTbe able to pass background check
  • MUST be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, & gloves)
  • MUST have NCCCO Crane Certification
  • Required Skills:
    • MUST have experience with operating an EXCAVATOR, SKID STEER, Marsh Buggie & BULLDOZER (1 year minimumpreferred)
    • Knowledge of reading blueprints can be helpful
    • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Abilityto use good judgement and act independently
  • Job Duties/Responsibilities.
    • Operateheavy equipmentin compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
    • Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
    • Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.
    • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
    • Inspection of the machinery before and after to ensure that it is in good working condition. If upon inspection, some defects or issues are found, the operator will report them so that they can be addressed appropriately.
      • Perform daily checks on equipment
      • Rendering regular repairs and maintenance as needed.
      • Reporting more serious defects for repair by an authorized service provider.
    • Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
      • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
    • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
      • Practicesafety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
      • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
      • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
      • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
    • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
    • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
    • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
    • Excellent physical strength & stamina
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
      • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
      • Ability to work in an environmentwith exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
  • Documents Required:
    • Driver's License/Identification Card
    • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen.
  • Must be able to provide own PPE (hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, gloves)
  • Must have reliable transportation (Will be required to travel up to a 60 mile radius)
  • Pay:
    • Based on experience
    • Weekly Pay
    • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
      • 10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)
