Job summary

Page Mechanical Group, Inc. is seeking EXPERIENCED Asphalt Equipment Operators for the Houma, LA area to operate a variety of paving and support equipment.

Duties include loading/unloading, adjusting material flow, setting up equipment, and performing routine maintenance while following safety policies. Candidates must have asphalt equipment experience and be able to pass a drug screen; scheduling is Monday through Friday with some overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating asphalt equipment such as asphalt paver, screed, rollers, broom skid steer, backhoe, etc.
• Must be able to pass drug screen.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
• Observe material distribution to adjust machine settings and indicate low spots.
• Set up and tear down equipment; shovel, rake and spread asphalt.
• Inspect machinery to determine repairs and perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; assist with waste disposal.

• Requirements for Position:
  • Experience with operating asphalt equipment (asphalt paver, screed, rollers, broom skid steer, backhoe, etc...)
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
• Required Skills:

• Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operateheavy equipmentin compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow, and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
  • Assist in placement, displacement, and moving various traffic control devices.
  • Set up and tear down equipment.
  • Shovel, rake and spread asphalt.
  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
    • Transport raw materials to production workstations
    • Lift and carry merchandises/materialas needed..
    • Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages.
    • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
    • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
    • Maintain equipment in safe and good working condition.
  • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
    • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
    • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
    • Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
  • Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
    • Practicesafety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
    • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
    • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
    • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks
  • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
    • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise,fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock

• MUST have reliable transportation.
• Pay:
  • Starting Pay: $20.00-$25.00 Per Hour (DOE)
  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
    • 8 - 12 Hour Days (With Weather Permitting)
