Job summary

O6 Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time traveling role. Responsibilities include equipment inspection, safety adherence, site prep, and handling loads and paperwork.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years operating excavators/skid steers and underground tank remediation experience, with HazWOPER certification or willingness to obtain. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, and requires working in diverse weather conditions across job sites.

Qualifications

  • Underground tank removal and remediation experience preferred
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions and in confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Adhere to safety rules and site safety plans during cleanup activities
  • Operate hand tools and equipment and perform construction labor such as site prep and cleanup
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
  • Complete required paperwork and records

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This is a full- time traveling position.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Adhere and follow safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear
  • Operate routinely used hand tools and equipment
  • Perform general construction labor including site preparation, material handling, demolition support, and cleanup
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles, and trailers
  • Complete required paperwork, forms and records as required
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years demonstrated ability to operate various types of heavy equipment including excavators and skid steers preferred
  • Underground tank removal and remediation experience preferred
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions
  • Works in atmospheres with low clearance, confined spaces and at heights
  • Environmental and hazardous waste experience including certification per OSHA 1910.120 (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER) (Company willing to help obtain)
