Job summary

Building Ventures in Texas City is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to move between job sites across the United States. You will operate scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders, using GPS grade control to meet production targets.

The role requires 2+ years of field experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass DOT medical and drug tests. Per diem travel is provided with overtime opportunities on extended projects and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years operating heavy earthmoving equipment on civil construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug test.
  • Ability to travel nationwide for multi-week assignments.
  • English proficiency for reading plans and safety communications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders safely and efficiently on earthmoving and civil construction sites.
  • Use GPS grade control, blade work and machine controls to meet grade and production targets.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-shift equipment inspections; report defects and complete basic maintenance.
  • Follow site safety plans, enforce PPE and lockout/tagout procedures, and attend site-specific safety briefings.
  • Adapt to different jobsite conditions and crew assignments; keep accurate equipment logs and job reports.

About this roleJoin a crew of experienced operators running scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders on projects across the United States. This is a per diem travel position for operators who are ready to move between job sites, work long days when needed, and get the job done safely and efficiently. You'll operate a range of earthmoving machines, use GPS/grade-control and blade work, perform daily inspections and light maintenance, and adapt quickly to changing site conditions.
